ABOUT US

Horse Riding in North Devon

girlshorses.jpeg

We are a friendly, family run riding school in North Devon offering riding tuition, hacking, stable management and lots more to all ages and abilities of rider.

Situated in a tranquil and extremely beautiful location, we can offer a relaxing environment in which to be, learn a new skill and make new friends along the way!

We pride ourselves in teaching people to ride slowly and progressively resulting in correct, competent riders with the proper skills to make their hobby the most enjoyable it can be.

We are a family run centre, with sisters Anna & Maria at the heart of the team.

Maria is a BHSAI qualified instructor, who enjoys dressage and eventing with her own horses when the chance arises. Anna has a particular love for gypsy cobs and enjoys teaching those just starting on their riding journeys.

Mum, Shelagh, provides invaluable behind the scenes support now that her riding days are over, and helps a lot with looking after the youngest member of the family, William and Nancy, Maria's two children.

Alongside we also have Kezzie, who came for two weeks' work experience from college and never left! She is just starting out with her teaching career.

Anna's partner, Rae, who provides much needed yard and groom support and has learned a huge amount in a short space of time, having never ridden a horse until 2019!

Apprentice Briony is coming up to completing her year with us, and Louise will be starting her apprenticeship with us very soon. They are both very important and valued members of our team, and Briony will hopefully still be here with us some days after her apprenticeship is finished!

Between us we have over thirty years experience of teaching children and adults to ride, and we put a  lot of thought and effort into our lessons to ensure our riders get the most from their riding experience, learning to ride safely and correctly from the start, to see progression and to have a lot of fun along the way!

We are fully insured and licensed riding centre and offer lessons tailored to suit each individual rider. Our horses and ponies are kind and well schooled.
